Groundwork Creswell, Ashfield and Mansfield provides a range of services to businesses both large and small. We work on initiatives with start-up and existing organisations to help them improve not only their performance but also their surroundings and environmental impact.
Our projects play an essential role in regeneration by improving business parks, town centres and facilities to attract new companies and investors to the area.
Groundwork supports businesses throughout its operational area by helping them to remain competitive. We work on initiatives with start-up and existing organisations to help them improve not only their bottom line performance but also their surroundings and environmental impact.
By improving business parks and town centres and improving facilities, our aim is to attract new companies and investors to the area. This plays an essential role in regeneration. In 2008/09, the BizFizz programme helped both aspiring entrepreneurs and established businesses by providing free, confidential and professional advice as well as practical help. Six dedicated Business Coaches worked in areas covering: Clowne, Shirebrook, South Normanton, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Mansfield Woodhouse. Social enterprises are ‘not for profit’ businesses that have social aims and objectives. Groundwork supported the post of a Social Enterprise Development worker recruited to develop social enterprises in the Bolsover, Mansfield and Ashfield areas.
Groundwork has been working with its partners in North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire in developing a project to stimulate the creative economy. A co-ordinator post has been created that will roll out in the new year. This will work with local entrepreneurs in the creative industries sector, building on the Greenhouse project run by Groundwork in the past. This post will act as an advocate for the creative industries to local, sub-regional and regional economic regeneration and arts development agencies. Groundwork looks forward to report on the developments in future years.
