LIFE open for grant applications

26/06/2010

Leicestershire Investment Fund for the Environment would like to announce the launch of its 2010 funding application round. The LIFE fund was set up to give Leicestershire a better LIFE and leave an environmental legacy. It has awarded 20 grants in the last 3 years to groups such as schools, youth centres and wildlife groups and is now looking to support a wide range of environmental projects that:

  • Reduce pollution
  • Support wildlife and enhance biodiversity
  • Increase recycling and the reuse of materials
  • Protect habitats and green spaces
  • Raise environmental awareness and understanding

All grants will be awards for new projects / ongoing work within Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland.  Any properly constituted group or organisation may apply but individuals, local authorities, businesses and government agencies are ineligible.

Preference will be given to applications for match funding of a larger fund raising requirement rather than being the full cost of the project.

  • Up to a total of £5,000 is available for grants in 2010, with individual awards of between £100 and £1,000.

All applications should be received no later than 15 August to ensure that they are considered in this round.  Those interested should accompany their application form with additional evidence/information which can be in any format.  Please make the application concise whilst fully explaining the project and use.

Detailed criteria and an Application Form can be found on our website: http://www.eastmidlands.groundwork.org.uk/leicester--leicestershire/what-we-do/greener-living--working/life.aspx
