In partnership with businesses, community organisations and other large public sector bodies, Leicester City Council is developing a City Wide Carbon Reduction Plan as part of its Greener Leicester programme. The council has set a target to reduce citywide emissions of carbon dioxide to 50% of 1990 levels by 2025, and is inviting organisations across the city to help by developing their own action plans by way of contribution.

Groundwork Leicester and Leicestershire was delighted to be invited to the first meeting of the Carbon Reduction Plan Pledge, and we jumped at the opportunity to sign up and demonstrate our commitment. The initiative will present the whole city with an opportunity to tackle climate change and to fundamentally change the way it looks towards the future.

Groundwork would be delighted to support smaller organisations that want to support the campaign, but who might be unsure about how to develop an action plan. If this is the case, please get in touch with us.
