How to get in touch with our team
Active Communities for their Environment (ACE) enables school children to take part in National Standard ‘Bikeability’ cycle training which teaches them to be confident and safe cycling on the roads.
ACE delivers level one and two National Standard cycle training which builds up from the playground to on-road riding.
ACE and Bikes 4 All work together to recycle bikes and give them to children who don’t own a bike themselves, so they can take part in the cycle training.
If you are interested in receiving Bikeability training at your school please contact our cycle trainers on 0116 222 0222.
Our courses contribute towards the attainment of one unit of both ASDAN and CoPE youth awards.
We offer a bespoke training course with practical modules that explore the basics of bicycle mechanics - from how-to-fix-a-flat to more advanced gear and brake skills and techniques.
Learners work towards refurbishing their own bike at the end of the course and content mirrors that of the EAL Level 2 Cycle Maintenance course with the exception of the more challenging Wheel Building modules.
This course is an ideal introduction to cycle mechanics and can lead onto an accredited qualification. It is delivered in 2 or 3 days each week for 6 months.
This course builds on technical skills through more vocationally orientated modules.
The modules for the level 2 course are as follows:
Most assessments are practical but the course includes a written multiple choice test on Health & Safety in the workplace.
