Here are some facts and figures to show Groundwork Leicester and Leicestershire’s impact in your neighbourhood during 2010/11:

We planted 2637 trees, improved 321,373 sq metres of land and maintained 170,466 sq metres of land.
In person days, we actively involved 5,641 young people, 10,798 adults and 417 partners in projects.
86 schools were involved with Groundwork Leicester and Leicestershire and we trained 97 teachers in ESD.
The total training we provided for all our specialties equalled 1555 weeks and resulted in 1127 qualifications and 24 progressions with a 89% satisfaction rate for our work.
Groundwork Leicestershire has actively supported 171 businesses with 48 EMS accreditations achieved. There were 86 new jobs created and 96 safeguarded.
Our mission to avoid and reduce CO2 emissions resulted in 1467 tonnes saved and 1533 tonnes of waste diverted from local landfill sites.

In total, we progressed 121 projects: 19 physical environmental improvements, 57 education and community involvement schemes and 45 economy and environments projects.
