Gainsborough has a unique area of open space in the heart of the town. This 16 hectare ‘green lung’, known as Pingle Hill, is of great importance to local wildlife and to the people living and working within the town. Unfortunately, over time large portions of the site have been neglected and some parts have suffered from anti-social behaviour.
In an effort to revive the land to a more enjoyable open community space Groundwork Lincolnshire has consulted widely with a number of key stakeholders, all of which have provided valubale information in order for us to produce a masterplan for the site.
A report was funded by the East Midlands Development Agency and West Lindsey Anti-Social Behaviour Partnership, and completed by Groundwork Lincolnshire. The next step is to start implementing the various different projects listed within this development report. This implementation will begin with an upcoming workshop in which the interested parties (local council, members of the public, etc) can have their say. The proposed plans for Pingle Hill can be obtained from the below PDF.
