Communities

Groundwork works with community groups to make changes to local places across the country. Often where we work depends on funding and our capacity, but it is always worth contacting us to see what we can do in your area. Work we carry out includes things like:

  • Creating community gardens and allotments
  • Providing activities for young people
  • Running local environmental campaigns

We also run a number of grant schemes that your community could be eligible for such as Community Spaces that offers grants to community groups to improve public spaces in their neighbourhood.  The programme is currently offering community groups the opportunity to apply for a grant of between £10,000 and £49,999 until January 2011. Grants could be used for new play or recreation equipment or environmental projects and partnerships.
